Matthew Howard (footballer)

Matthew Howard is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Howard was drafted by Richmond with pick 39 in the 2001 AFL Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2003 and played primarily as a defender. He was known for his strong tackling and contested marking ability.

Across his career at Richmond, Howard played 35 senior games before being delisted at the end of the 2005 season.
