Drackett

Drackett was a corporation specializing in household cleaning and personal care products. Founded in 1915 as the Drackett Chemical Company by Harry R. Drackett in Cincinnati, Ohio, it grew to become a significant player in the consumer goods market.

The company was best known for creating and marketing brands like Windex (glass cleaner), Drano (drain cleaner), and Vanish (toilet bowl cleaner). These products became staples in many households across the United States and internationally.

Over the years, Drackett underwent several ownership changes. In 1965, the company was acquired by Bristol-Myers. Later, in 1992, S.C. Johnson & Son acquired Drackett from Bristol-Myers Squibb. The Drackett name itself is no longer used as a standalone brand, with its former product lines now integrated under the S.C. Johnson banner. While the corporation no longer exists as an independent entity, its legacy lives on through the widely recognized and still-available brands it developed.
