Vokolida

Vokolida is a village located in the Karpas Peninsula of Northern Cyprus, within the İskele District. It is situated north of Trikomo (İskele). The village is predominantly inhabited by Turkish Cypriots. Historically, the area had a mixed population of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, prior to the events of 1974.

Vokolida is an agricultural area, known primarily for its cultivation of various crops. Fishing also forms a component of the local economy. The village offers limited services and relies on nearby larger towns for more extensive commercial activities and amenities.

The precise etymology of the name "Vokolida" is subject to various interpretations, but it is generally believed to be of Greek origin. Since 1974, the village, like others in Northern Cyprus, has experienced demographic shifts following the division of the island.
