Liam Griffin (hurler)

Liam Griffin is a retired Irish hurler and Gaelic football player. He primarily played as a right corner-back for the Wexford senior hurling team.

Griffin's inter-county career spanned from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. He was a key member of the Wexford team during that period, known for his tenacious defending and unwavering commitment. He won a Leinster Senior Hurling Championship medal in 1976.

Beyond his playing career, Griffin is a well-known figure in Wexford GAA. He served as the manager of the Wexford senior hurling team from 1995 to 1997. Under his management, Wexford won the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship in 1996, defeating Limerick in the final. This victory ended an 86-year drought for Wexford in the All-Ireland hurling championship.

Griffin is regarded as a legend in Wexford hurling, both for his playing and managerial contributions. He is also a businessman and public speaker.
