La Palina
La Palina is a brand of premium cigars. The brand has a history dating back to 1896 when Samuel Paley, an immigrant from Ukraine, began hand-rolling cigars in Chicago for his wife, Goldie Drell Paley. The cigars were named "La Palina" as a tribute to her.
The original La Palina brand thrived in the early 20th century, even becoming known for using radio advertising. However, the brand eventually faded from prominence.
In 2010, Samuel Paley's grandson, Bill Paley, resurrected the La Palina brand. He focused on producing high-quality, boutique cigars using carefully selected tobaccos and traditional cigar-making techniques. The revived brand quickly gained recognition within the cigar community for its quality and distinctive blends.
La Palina cigars are known for their diverse range of blends, often incorporating rare or aged tobaccos. They are generally positioned as a high-end, premium cigar offering. Production is often limited, further contributing to the brand's reputation for exclusivity and quality. The company releases various lines with different wrapper, binder, and filler combinations, allowing for a range of strength and flavor profiles.
