KMBC-TV is a television station licensed to Kansas City, Missouri, United States, serving the Kansas City metropolitan area as an affiliate of ABC. It is owned by Hearst Television. The station's studios are located on Winchester Avenue in the historic broadcast district in Midtown Kansas City, and its transmitter is located in the Blue Ridge section of Independence, Missouri.

Founded by Cook Paint and Varnish Company, KMBC-TV began broadcasting on September 27, 1953. It originally shared a CBS affiliation with WHB-TV (channel 4, now KCTV). In 1955, KMBC-TV became the primary ABC affiliate for the Kansas City area.
