Andrei Stepanov (ice hockey)

Andrei Stepanov (born April 14, 1986) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey player. He is currently an unrestricted free agent.

Career

Stepanov has played primarily in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) throughout his career. He has represented several KHL teams, including Amur Khabarovsk, Dynamo Minsk, Severstal Cherepovets, and Sibir Novosibirsk. He has also played briefly for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Stepanov is known as a physical, defensive-minded defenseman.

International Play

Stepanov has been a mainstay on the Belarusian national ice hockey team. He has participated in numerous IIHF World Championships, representing Belarus at the top level. He has also played for Belarus in Olympic qualifying tournaments.

Playing Style

Stepanov is considered a stay-at-home defenseman known for his size and physicality. His primary role is to defend his own zone, block shots, and clear the front of the net. He is not known for his offensive contributions.
