Jim Smith (cricketer, born 1940)

Jim Smith (born 17 August 1940) is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1961 and 1970.

Smith was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He made his debut for Derbyshire in the 1961 season and played regularly until 1970. Smith took 281 first-class wickets with a best performance of 7 for 58 against Somerset in 1963. He scored 3,775 runs with a top score of 106 against Northamptonshire in 1968.

After retiring from first-class cricket, Smith continued to play club cricket.
