Wang Tao (footballer, born 1970)

Wang Tao (Chinese: 王涛; pinyin: Wáng Tāo; born April 8, 1970) is a retired Chinese football player. He primarily played as a defender throughout his career.

Wang Tao spent the majority of his career playing for Bayi Football Team, the football team of the People's Liberation Army. He was known for his strong tackling and physical presence on the field. After the disbandment of Bayi Football Team in 2003, he joined Beijing Hyundai, where he played until his retirement.

Wang Tao was also a member of the Chinese national football team, earning several caps during his international career. He participated in various international competitions, representing China in World Cup qualifiers and other tournaments. He was a reliable presence in the national team's defense during his time.

Following his retirement from professional football, Wang Tao has remained involved in the sport, often participating in veteran tournaments and engaging in football-related activities in China.
