Jeremy Foley (athletic director)

Jeremy Foley (born 1949 or 1950) is a retired American college athletics administrator. He served as the athletic director for the University of Florida from 1992 to 2016. During his tenure, Florida's athletic program achieved significant national success, winning numerous national championships across a wide variety of sports including football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. Foley is widely credited with building the University of Florida into one of the premier athletic programs in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the nation.

Prior to becoming athletic director, Foley held several positions within the Florida athletic department, including sports information director and assistant athletic director. His leadership style was often characterized as strategic and supportive of coaches, allowing them autonomy while providing the resources necessary to compete at the highest level. He was known for his ability to identify and hire successful coaches, including Steve Spurrier (football) and Billy Donovan (basketball).

Following his retirement as athletic director, Foley remained involved with the University of Florida, serving in various advisory roles. He is considered a pivotal figure in the history of Florida athletics and is often regarded as one of the most successful athletic directors in college sports history. He was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Letterwinner in 2017.
