Gogunda holds historical significance, particularly relating to Maharana Pratap. It served as a temporary capital for Pratap after the Battle of Haldighati in 1576. Pratap was crowned as the ruler of Mewar in Gogunda. The area witnessed significant conflict between the Mewar forces and the Mughal Empire.
