Brad Davis (baseball)
Brad Davis (born July 22, 1955) is a former Major League Baseball infielder. He played primarily as a second baseman but also saw time at shortstop and third base during his career, which spanned from 1977 to 1988.
Davis was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 10th round of the 1977 MLB draft. He made his major league debut with the Reds on September 3, 1977. He played for the Reds from 1977 to 1981, then was traded to the San Diego Padres. He played for the Padres from 1982 to 1983. In 1984, he played for the San Francisco Giants. Davis spent the 1985 and 1986 seasons with the Oakland Athletics. He concluded his major league career with the Baltimore Orioles, playing for them in 1987 and 1988.
While never a star, Davis was considered a versatile and valuable utility player, known for his solid defense and ability to fill in at multiple positions. His career statistics include a .255 batting average, 15 home runs, and 191 RBIs in 752 games played.
