Afon Wyre

The Afon Wyre (River Wyre) is a river in the county of Ceredigion, Wales. It is a relatively short river, rising in the Cambrian Mountains and flowing generally westwards to its confluence with the Afon Teifi near Llechryd, approximately 3 miles south of Cardigan.

The Wyre is known for its scenic beauty and contribution to the broader Teifi catchment. While not a major river in terms of length or volume, it is important locally for drainage and its contribution to the ecological health of the Teifi. The river's course is largely rural, passing through agricultural land and woodlands.

Historically, like many rivers in Wales, the Afon Wyre would have been used for powering mills. Salmon and trout are present in the river, making it of interest to anglers.
