GEM (band)

GEM was a Japanese pop rock band formed in 1998. The band consisted of Hiroko Asakawa (vocals), Yukari Takekawa (bass), and Miwa Sasaki (drums).

Known for their energetic live performances and catchy melodies, GEM released several singles and albums throughout the early 2000s. Their music often featured themes of love, friendship, and everyday life.

While they achieved moderate success in Japan, GEM eventually disbanded in 2006. The members have since pursued individual musical projects. Though no longer active as a band, their music continues to be appreciated by fans of J-pop and rock. Specific reasons for the disbandment have not been widely publicized.
