Iwatsuki Station (Saitama)

Iwatsuki Station (岩槻駅, Iwatsuki-eki) is a railway station on the Tōbu Urban Park Line (Tōbu Noda Line) in Iwatsuki-ku, Saitama, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Tōbu Railway.

Location and Layout

The station is located in the heart of Iwatsuki-ku, serving as a major transportation hub for the area. Iwatsuki Station has two island platforms serving four tracks. The station building is elevated above the platforms.

History

Iwatsuki Station opened on November 1, 1929, as a station on the Bōsō Railway. The Bōsō Railway was acquired by Tōbu Railway in 1944. The station has undergone renovations and expansions over the years to accommodate increasing passenger traffic.
