Atygay (lake)
Atygay is a lake located in the Kostanay Region of Kazakhstan. It is situated in the Turgay Depression, a large lowland area in the north-central part of the country. Atygay is a relatively shallow, brackish lake, and its size can fluctuate depending on the season and the amount of precipitation. The lake's water source is primarily snowmelt and rainfall runoff. The surrounding area is characterized by steppe vegetation. Atygay Lake plays a role in the regional ecosystem, providing habitat for various species of birds and other wildlife. Due to its location and the arid climate, the lake is susceptible to evaporation, which can lead to increased salinity.
