Kim Wilde
Kim Wilde (born Kim Smith, 18 November 1960) is an English pop singer, DJ and television presenter. She is known for her distinctive voice and her success in the 1980s, starting with her debut single "Kids in America" in 1981, which reached number two in the UK.
Wilde followed "Kids in America" with a string of successful singles including "Chequered Love", "Cambodia", "You Keep Me Hangin' On" (a 1986 US number one), and "You Came". She has sold over 10 million albums and 20 million singles worldwide.
In the 1990s, Wilde largely retired from music to raise her family. She developed an interest in gardening and trained as a horticulturalist. She has since appeared on gardening programmes and written books on the subject.
Wilde returned to music in the 2000s, releasing new albums and touring. She remains a popular live performer and has maintained a dedicated fanbase throughout her career.
