Thomas Gilman (wrestler)

Thomas Patrick Gilman (born May 28, 1994) is an American freestyle wrestler. He is an Olympic bronze medalist and a world champion, both at 57 kg.

Early Life and Education:

Gilman was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended and wrestled for Council Bluffs St. Albert High School, where he was a four-time Iowa high school state champion. He then went on to wrestle for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes under head coach Tom Brands.

Collegiate Career:

At the University of Iowa, Gilman was a three-time All-American (2014, 2016, 2017). He finished second at the 2016 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and third in 2017. He was also a three-time Big Ten Conference finalist, winning the title in 2016. He was known for his aggressive wrestling style and relentless pursuit of takedowns.
