Royalty (grape)

The Royalty grape is a teinturier grape variety cultivated primarily in California's Central Valley. It is known for its deeply pigmented juice and is used predominantly as a blending grape to add color and body to other wines. Royalty grapes are not typically bottled as a single-varietal wine. The varietal is a hybrid of Alicante Ganzin and Trousseau. It’s characteristics include high acidity, low tannin, and berry flavors. Due to its intense color, it’s often used to make grape concentrate and juice.
