2019–20 Sydney FC (women) season
The 2019–20 Sydney FC season was the club's twelfth season in the W-League, the premier competition in Australian women's soccer. The season covered the period from September 2019 to March 2020. Sydney FC competed in the W-League and aimed to improve upon their previous season's performance.
Ante Juric remained as head coach. The squad saw some changes in personnel, with key players departing and new signings brought in to bolster the team. The team's objective was to challenge for the W-League title and represent the club with distinction.
Throughout the regular season, Sydney FC played a series of matches against other W-League teams, accumulating points based on wins, draws, and losses. Their performance dictated their position on the league table and determined whether they qualified for the finals series.
Sydney FC finished the regular season in second place, qualifying for the finals series. They defeated Melbourne Victory in the semi-final. In the Grand Final, scheduled for March 22, 2020, they were set to play Melbourne City, but the match was cancelled due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, Melbourne City were awarded the championship as they had finished higher on the league table after the regular season.
