Charlotte station (Michigan Central Railroad)

Charlotte Station was a railway station located in Charlotte, Michigan, and served by the Michigan Central Railroad. Constructed in 1885, the station was a significant transportation hub for the city and surrounding area, facilitating passenger and freight service. Its design reflected the architectural styles common in late 19th-century railway stations, often featuring Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival elements. The station connected Charlotte to major cities along the Michigan Central line, contributing to the economic development of the region by enabling the transport of agricultural goods and manufactured products. Passenger service to Charlotte declined significantly in the mid-20th century with the rise of automobile travel. The station was eventually abandoned and subsequently demolished in 1960. Today, no traces of the station remain. The former location serves as a community park.
