InWEnt
InWEnt, Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH (Capacity Building International, Germany), was a German non-profit organization dedicated to human resource development, capacity building, and international dialogue. It was formed in 2002 through the merger of the German Foundation for International Development (DSE) and the Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft (CDG).
InWEnt operated in various sectors, including economic development, education, environment, health, and governance. Its activities involved offering training programs, workshops, seminars, and advisory services to professionals and decision-makers from developing and transition countries. These programs aimed to strengthen individual and institutional capacities to promote sustainable development and improve living conditions.
InWEnt worked closely with partner organizations in developing countries, including government agencies, private sector companies, and non-governmental organizations. It also collaborated with international organizations and donor agencies.
In 2011, InWEnt was integrated into the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Agency for International Cooperation), becoming part of GIZ's Education, Science, and Capacity Building division. The InWEnt brand is no longer actively used, with GIZ continuing its work in international capacity development.
