Ictinus (crater)

Ictinus is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northwest of the larger crater Korolev, and northeast of the slightly smaller crater Vening Meinesz.

Ictinus is a relatively well-formed crater with a sharp, well-defined rim that has suffered little erosion. The inner walls slope down to a somewhat uneven interior floor. A small crater lies along the eastern inner wall. The crater's interior has a few minor ridges and irregularities, but is otherwise relatively featureless. There is no central peak.

The crater is named after Ictinus, the architect of the Parthenon in ancient Greece.
