Iain Stewart (physicist)

Iain Stewart is a theoretical physicist specializing in effective field theories (EFTs) for particle physics and nuclear physics. He is known for his work on Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET), a powerful EFT used to describe energetic particles interacting with soft, collinear radiation, particularly in the context of quantum chromodynamics (QCD).

Stewart received his Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1998. He is currently a Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

His research interests broadly include:

• Effective Field Theories: Development and application of EFTs to address problems in particle physics and nuclear physics.
