Alarm (Namie Amuro song)
Alarm is a song recorded by Japanese singer Namie Amuro. It was released on March 17, 2004, as the second single from her sixth studio album, Style (2003). The song was written by Nao'ymt and produced by T-Kimura. "Alarm" is a mid-tempo R&B track with elements of electronica and hip-hop. The lyrics describe a woman's awakening to a new sense of self-awareness and empowerment, symbolized by the metaphor of an alarm clock.
The single charted at number 11 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Despite not being one of Amuro's commercially biggest hits, "Alarm" is considered a fan favorite and a significant track in her discography due to its sound and lyrical themes which foreshadowed a shift towards a more mature and experimental sound for Amuro in later years. The single also included the B-side "Strobe." A music video was produced for "Alarm" featuring Amuro in various stylized settings.
