Ted Knap

Ted Knap (1914-2003) was an American political columnist and journalist who worked for the Scripps-Howard newspaper chain for over four decades. Known for his even-handed reporting and insightful analysis, Knap covered national politics, focusing on the White House and Congress.

Knap began his journalism career after graduating from the University of Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war, he joined Scripps-Howard and quickly rose to prominence, becoming a nationally syndicated columnist.

Throughout his career, Knap earned a reputation for integrity and objectivity. He was respected by politicians across the political spectrum and was often sought out for his views on current events. He avoided sensationalism and focused on providing readers with a clear and accurate understanding of the issues facing the nation. He retired in 1984.
