The 1939 model year represents the final year of production for this series. While often referred to collectively, differences and improvements were made throughout its production run.

The 1939 Austin 12 retained the characteristics that made the model successful, including a 1535 cc side-valve four-cylinder engine, providing reliable and economical motoring. It typically featured a four-speed gearbox. Body styles available in 1939 included saloons (both fixed-head and sliding-head), tourers, and occasionally other specialized bodies.
