Husnes

Husnes is a village in Kvinnherad municipality, Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the southern shore of the Hardangerfjorden, at the mouth of the Husnesfjorden. Husnes is the administrative centre of Kvinnherad municipality and a significant industrial site.

Historically, Husnes was a small farming and fishing community. The industrial development of Husnes began in the 1960s with the establishment of a large aluminium plant, Hydro Husnes, which significantly boosted the local economy and population. The plant remains a major employer in the region.
