Siamun (son of Ahmose I)

Siamun was an ancient Egyptian prince of the early 18th Dynasty. He was a son of Ahmose I, the pharaoh who expelled the Hyksos and founded the dynasty. Siamun, whose name means "Son of Amun," was likely born during the reign of his father. However, he did not succeed to the throne.

His significance lies primarily in the evidence suggesting his existence and royal lineage. While details about his life are scarce, Siamun is known from surviving funerary cones and possibly other archaeological fragments. These artifacts indicate that he held a prominent position within the royal family. He likely died young, before he could ascend the throne.

The exact circumstances of his death and burial are unknown. Due to the limited historical records, a comprehensive picture of Siamun's life and role in the court of Ahmose I remains incomplete. He is a minor figure in Egyptian history, but his existence contributes to our understanding of the royal family dynamics during the reign of Ahmose I and the establishment of the 18th Dynasty.
