USS Pike

The name USS Pike has been assigned to three submarines of the United States Navy:

• USS Pike (SS-6), a Plunger-class submarine, commissioned in 1903 and decommissioned in 1913. Originally named Adder, she was renamed Pike in 1911. She served primarily in experimental and training roles.

• USS Pike (SS-173), a Porpoise-class submarine, commissioned in 1935 and decommissioned in 1945. She served extensively in the Pacific Theater during World War II, conducting numerous war patrols and earning battle stars.

• USS Pike (SSN-6), likely a typographical error, as there is no USS Pike designated SSN-6. It is probable that this refers to either the aforementioned USS Pike (SS-6) or USS Pike (SS-173), with an error in the hull classification symbol.
