Pucker Up (horse)

Pucker Up was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1989 Breeders' Cup Distaff. Bred in Kentucky, she was sired by Dixieland Band out of the mare Wedding Picture. Trained by Scotty Schulhofer and ridden by Julie Krone in the Breeders' Cup, Pucker Up was considered an outsider in the race, but she rallied late to defeat older, more experienced mares.

While the Breeders’ Cup Distaff victory was her most significant accomplishment, Pucker Up also had a successful racing career prior to that race. She won multiple stakes races, showcasing her talent and versatility on the track. Following her racing career, she became a broodmare, producing foals with varying degrees of success.
