Pandur I (6×6)

The Pandur I (6×6) is an Austrian armored personnel carrier (APC) developed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug (now part of General Dynamics European Land Systems – Steyr GmbH). It is a six-wheeled vehicle designed for a variety of roles, including troop transport, reconnaissance, command and control, and fire support.

The Pandur I is characterized by its modular design, allowing it to be configured with different weapon systems and equipment packages to meet specific mission requirements. It typically accommodates a crew of two and can carry up to 12 fully equipped soldiers. Its engine provides good mobility both on and off-road, and it can be fitted with amphibious capabilities.

Several variants of the Pandur I exist, equipped with various weapon systems, including machine guns, automatic cannons, and anti-tank missiles. It has been exported to several countries and seen service in various peacekeeping and combat operations. Its successor, the Pandur II, represents a significant upgrade with improved protection, payload capacity, and performance.
