Huntington Creek (Pennsylvania)

Huntington Creek is a tributary of the Susquehanna River located in Luzerne and Columbia counties in Pennsylvania. It is approximately 29.2 miles (47.0 km) long. The creek flows generally southward, draining a watershed area of roughly 78 square miles (200 km2).

The creek is known for its scenic beauty and its numerous waterfalls, particularly in Ricketts Glen State Park, where it flows through the park's Glens Natural Area. The Ganoga Glen and Kitchen Creek confluence lies within the state park. The creek provides opportunities for fishing, hiking, and other recreational activities.

Huntington Creek originates in Fairmount Township, Luzerne County, and flows through several townships including Ross, Huntington, and Fairmount in Luzerne County, and Fishing Creek and Benton in Columbia County, before eventually joining the Susquehanna River near Shickshinny, Pennsylvania.

The watershed is primarily forested, with some agricultural and residential areas. Water quality is generally considered good, although it can be impacted by non-point source pollution from agricultural runoff and residential development.

The creek is named after Benjamin Huntington, an early settler in the area.
