Hu Heping

Hu Heping (胡和平, born October 1962) is a Chinese politician and engineer. He is currently the Minister of Human Resources and Social Security.

Hu Heping graduated from Tsinghua University with a doctorate in engineering. He has spent much of his career in academia and university administration. He served as the President of Tsinghua University from 2008 to 2013.

Subsequently, Hu Heping transitioned into provincial-level politics. He served as the Party Secretary of Shaanxi Province from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, he held various positions in Shaanxi, including Deputy Party Secretary and Governor.

In 2020, he was appointed as the Minister of Culture and Tourism. In 2024, he became the Minister of Human Resources and Social Security. He is also a member of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
