Andrea Stella (engineer)

Andrea Stella is an Italian motorsports engineer, currently serving as the Team Principal of the McLaren Formula 1 team.

Stella began his career in motorsports with Ferrari in 2000, initially as a performance engineer working alongside Michael Schumacher and Kimi Räikkönen. He held various positions within Ferrari's engineering department, including race engineer, a role he held for both Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso.

In 2015, Stella moved to McLaren, initially as Head of Race Operations. He subsequently held positions such as Performance Director and Racing Director. In December 2022, McLaren announced Stella's promotion to Team Principal, succeeding Andreas Seidl, effective immediately. He has been credited with leading a restructuring of the McLaren Formula 1 team focused on improving performance and fostering a collaborative team environment. His tenure as Team Principal has seen significant progress for McLaren, including race wins and a renewed challenge for championship contention.
