HMS Chatham (F87)
HMS Chatham (F87) was a Type 22 frigate of the British Royal Navy. She was the last Batch 3 Type 22 frigate to be built.
Service History:
Launched in 1988 and commissioned in 1990, HMS Chatham served extensively in various roles including anti-submarine warfare, anti-air warfare, and general patrol duties. She participated in numerous deployments and exercises worldwide, including operations in the Gulf War and the Sierra Leone Civil War. The Chatham was involved in maritime security operations and counter-narcotics patrols.
Decommissioning:
HMS Chatham was decommissioned on 8 February 2011. Her pennant number was F87.
Fate:
Following decommissioning, HMS Chatham was sold to Chile in 2011 and renamed Almirante Condell (FFG-06). She continued to serve in the Chilean Navy.
