HMS Boxer (F121)

HMS Boxer (F121) was a Type 22 Batch 3 frigate of the British Royal Navy. She was commissioned in 1983 and decommissioned in 1999. One of four Batch 3 Type 22 frigates, she was built by Yarrow Shipbuilders.

The Boxer served primarily in a general-purpose role, capable of anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and anti-air warfare. She participated in several international deployments and exercises during her service life. Notable features of the Batch 3 Type 22 frigates included an improved combat system and enhanced command and control facilities compared to earlier batches. Following decommissioning, Boxer was sold to Romania in 2005 and renamed Regina Maria (F221). She remains in service with the Romanian Naval Forces as of 2023.
