James A. Thompson (Texas politician)

James A. Thompson (born circa 1940s, date of death unknown) was an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 28. District 28 encompasses Wharton County and parts of Fort Bend County.

Thompson served in the Texas House of Representatives for six terms, from 1985 to 1997. During his tenure, he was known for his work on agricultural issues, water conservation, and economic development within his district. He served on several committees, including the Agriculture Committee, the Natural Resources Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee.

Thompson was a farmer and rancher by profession. He resided in Wharton, Texas.
