George Stokes (Medal of Honor)

George Stokes was a Union Army soldier during the American Civil War. He served in the 9th Pennsylvania Reserves and received the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia, on May 12, 1864. Stokes's citation notes his capture of the flag of the 8th Virginia Infantry. His rank at the time of the action was Private.
