George Goring (died 1602)
George Goring (died 1602) was an English courtier and landowner. He was the son of William Goring of Burton, Sussex, and Anne, daughter of Sir Drew Barentyne.
Goring served as a Gentleman Pensioner to Queen Elizabeth I. He acquired lands in Sussex and elsewhere through grants and purchases. He is noted for his connections at court and his involvement in land transactions.
He married Anne Denny, daughter of Sir Edward Denny of Waltham Abbey, Essex, and they had several children, including Sir George Goring, 1st Earl of Norwich. His descendants played a significant role in English politics and society during the 17th century, particularly during the English Civil War.
He died in 1602 and was succeeded by his son, later Earl of Norwich. His will provides further details about his land holdings and family provisions.
