Mike Elliott (Formula One)

Mike Elliott is a British engineer and former Chief Technical Officer of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

Elliott holds a PhD in aerodynamics from Imperial College London. Prior to his involvement in Formula One, he worked in aerodynamics research.

He joined McLaren Racing in 2000, holding various aerodynamic roles before becoming Head of Aerodynamics.

In 2012, Elliott moved to Mercedes, initially as Head of Aerodynamics. He played a significant role in the team's dominant run of success from 2014 onwards. He progressed to Technology Director before being promoted to Chief Technical Officer in 2021, succeeding James Allison in the role.

In April 2023, it was announced that Elliott would swap roles with James Allison, returning to the position of Chief Technical Officer while Allison took over as Technical Director. This role swap aimed to address performance issues within the Mercedes team.

In late 2023, Elliott departed from the Mercedes team entirely. His future plans in motorsport or other fields were not immediately announced.
