Una Hanbury

Una Hanbury (born c. 1903, died July 19, 1998) was a British artist, printmaker, and illustrator. She is primarily known for her linocuts, wood engravings, and illustrations in the 1930s and 1940s. Her subjects often included landscapes, animals, and rural scenes, rendered in a distinctive modernist style. Hanbury exhibited her work at the Royal Academy, the Society of Wood Engravers, and other prominent venues in the UK. Little biographical information beyond exhibition catalogues and occasional mentions in art historical publications is readily available. Her artistic output, though not widely known, is appreciated for its skillful execution and evocation of the English countryside during a specific period. Hanbury's works are held in various public and private collections.
