Gabriel Popescu (footballer)

Gabriel Popescu (born December 25, 1973) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent the majority of his career playing in Spain and Romania.

Popescu started his career in Romania, playing for Electroputere Craiova, Universitatea Craiova, and Dinamo București. He gained recognition for his technical ability and playmaking skills.

In 1997, he moved to Spain, joining Salamanca. He also played for Valencia, Numancia, and Racing Ferrol during his time in Spain. He experienced varying degrees of success, contributing to the squads with his midfield prowess.

Popescu returned to Romania later in his career, playing for Național București and Universitatea Craiova before retiring from professional football.

He also represented Romania at the international level, earning caps for the national team.
