Frederic Whiting (painter)
Frederic Whiting (1873-1958) was a British painter, illustrator, and teacher known for his portraiture and genre scenes. He studied at the Royal College of Art and later became a prominent figure in the British art world. Whiting was particularly celebrated for his ability to capture the character and personality of his subjects, working in both oils and watercolors. His illustrations also appeared in various publications. He exhibited extensively, including at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon.
