Neil Webb

Neil Webb (born 30 July 1963) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

Webb began his career at Portsmouth, where he progressed through the youth ranks and established himself as a key player. He was known for his hard-tackling style, stamina, and ability to win possession. He earned a move to Manchester United in 1989 for a then-considerable fee.

At Manchester United, Webb was part of the squad that began a period of sustained success under manager Alex Ferguson. While his time there was disrupted by injuries, he contributed to the team winning the FA Cup in 1990, marking the club's first major trophy since 1985. He was also part of the team that won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1991.

Webb also represented England at the international level, earning 26 caps. He was a member of the England squad for the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy, where England reached the semi-finals.

After leaving Manchester United in 1992, Webb had spells at Nottingham Forest, Swindon Town, Grimsby Town, and Aldershot Town before retiring from professional football.
