Estate (album)
Estate is the second studio album by the American rock band O'Brother. It was released on August 20, 2013, through Triple Crown Records. The album was produced by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of the band Manchester Orchestra, who also produced O'Brother's previous album, Disillusion.
The album features a heavier, more atmospheric sound compared to Disillusion, incorporating elements of post-metal, progressive rock, and alternative rock. Thematically, Estate explores themes of death, loss, and the search for meaning.
The album received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its musicianship, atmosphere, and emotional depth. Some critics noted its darker and more complex nature compared to the band's earlier work. Key tracks from the album often cited include "Coma I," "Context," "Perennial," and "Cleanse Me."
