Eartha

Eartha Kitt (1927-2008) was an American singer, actress, dancer, and activist known for her distinctive voice and versatile talent. Born Eartha Mae Keith in South Carolina, she rose to international fame with her recordings of "Santa Baby," "C'est si bon," and "Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love)."

Kitt's career spanned over six decades, encompassing Broadway, film, television, and cabaret. She was known for her stage presence and interpretations of classic songs. Her film credits include "Anna Lucasta" and "St. Louis Blues," and she famously portrayed Catwoman in the 1960s television series "Batman."

Beyond her artistic achievements, Kitt was a vocal activist, particularly on issues of racial equality and social justice. Her career suffered a setback after she made anti-war statements at a White House luncheon in 1968, leading to a period of professional exile in the United States. However, she eventually returned to the spotlight and continued to perform and advocate for her beliefs until her death in 2008. She received several awards and nominations throughout her career, including three Emmy Awards.
