Durga Lal
Durga Lal (also spelled Durgaa Laal, born c. 1930, died 1998) was a renowned Nepali classical dancer and choreographer, considered a master of Kathak. He significantly contributed to the preservation and popularization of this dance form in Nepal.
Lal was known for his innovative choreography and his ability to blend traditional Kathak techniques with Nepali cultural elements. He established his own dance school, the Durga Lal Nritya Pratisthan, which played a vital role in training generations of Nepali dancers and promoting Nepali dance internationally.
