Matfield

Matfield is a village and civil parish in the Malvern Hills district of Worcestershire, England. It is situated approximately 5 miles (8 km) east of Malvern and lies within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Malvern Hills.

The name Matfield is believed to derive from the Old English "maet feld," meaning "meadow field."

Historically, Matfield was a primarily agricultural community. The parish church is St. Peter's, a small Norman church that has undergone various renovations throughout the centuries. Matfield also includes a number of historically significant buildings, including farmhouses and cottages.

Today, Matfield is a relatively small and quiet village, with a population of a few hundred people. It is primarily a residential area, although some agriculture continues. The village offers views of the surrounding countryside and the Malvern Hills.
