Dubyago (crater)
Dubyago is a lunar impact crater that lies on the eastern Mare Crisium. It is located northeast of the prominent crater Firmicus.
Dubyago is a relatively small, circular crater. The rim is sharply defined and shows little erosion. The interior is bowl-shaped and lacks a central peak. A slightly smaller crater, Dubyago B, is attached to the southern rim of Dubyago, giving it a figure-eight appearance.
The crater is named after Dmitry Ivanovich Dubyago (1818-1905) and his son, Alexander Dmitrievich Dubyago (1903-1959), both Russian/Soviet astronomers. Dmitry Dubyago was known for his work on theoretical astronomy and astrometry, while Alexander Dubyago specialized in the study of comets and meteors.
